Ashley Luttrell, a California native, was raised by her loving, goal driven young mother, and artistically adept older sister. Never held back by unrealistic expectations or traditional roles for a young girl, she explored her talents and dreams without fear or restraint. Despite her love of color and all things art, it wasn’t until early adulthood that Ashley discovered her true abilities. After moving to a small coastal town in Florida with her Brooklyn-born, Slavic husband and their fair-haired son, Ashley found her artistic voice in the world of digital painting and design. With over 6 years of experience and dedication, she has perfected her skills in the art of digital portraits and fantasy landscapes. Using a graphics tablet, Ashley sketches and paints all of her work on the computer in the same way one might prepare to paint on a canvas. The same abilities with composition, color awareness, and creativity apply.
Being a proudly self-taught artist, Ashley has struggled and triumphed in the art world; bringing forth her sensational, unorthodox fantasy creatures and genuine, pragmatic interpretations of the human form. Her work has been exhibited in countless galleries and publications around the globe including Romania, Germany, St. Louis MI, New York and many others. Teaming up with the ICAAD, (International Center for Advocates Against Discrimination), based in NY, New York, she has lead the way for artist to fight against systematic hatred with the visionary skills of local and international artists. Donating her work to charity fundraisers and auctions, Ashley believes strongly in the goodwill art can inspire in the people of the world, which one can find reflected in her varied portraits; depicting the finest of the our cultures and faiths. With her keen eye for design, she has aided local businesses and musicians nationwide in creating logos, image graphics, and websites to represent them in their professional lives.
In the years to come, Ashley plans to use her abilities to carve out a place for today’s female digital artists in a changing world. As an ultramodern wave of expression crashes into the art scene, she longs to be at the forefront; using her abilities to bring thought, emotion, human differences, compassion, wonder, and excitement to a population that rarely sees anything new. To revive the shelved art of portraits and flood the macrocosm of the fantasy genre with a fresh take on the representation of female artists and the reflections of their female characters.
