Barbara Paige is an artist and a musician. She recently opened her own gallery in the Village of the Arts to showcase her most unusual medium. She calls her work “Venerated Scrolls,” and using pages from the Bible and other religious artifacts, she rolls them into miniature scrolls and adorns them with natural and recycled items and affixes the pieces to a surface, often a type of shadowbox.
Her musical instrument of choice is a saxophone, a very expensive sax that plays like butter and sounds like silk. Since she can’t yet afford an saxophone of top quality, she plays an electronic wind instrument, which creates a sound as close as possible to the highest quality saxophones. Barbara plays background music at weddings, fine dining restaurants, and refined events.
