Brent MacPhail

  • by

Brent MacPhail hails from Nova Scotia.  He has traveled across much of the U.S., spent some time in California, earned his Masters in Psychology, and due to a life threatening illness, found and incorporated a macrobiotic diet into his lifestyle. This led to some interesting songs, many rather tongue in cheek that he recorded on the beach at Erin Rye Studios in Englewood, Florida in the winter of 2009. “People had been asking me for years for a copy of the title song when I’d play it macrobiotic conferences so it was with great satisfaction that it was completed and is now available. The songs are mostly a light-hearted look at macrobiotics which gave me the tools to take control over my health using whole natural foods. I wrote all the songs over several years and recorded this album for myself, my macro friends and for my teachers, many of them Japanese who braved coming to America after the Second World War to spread the message of peace and bring the gifts of the macrobiotic diet.”

Light-hearted, upbeat, fun, family friendly songs about macrobiotics, yin and yang and the title song is about the perfect bowel movement. Guitars, bass, drums on most songs.

Brent also has a vast catalogue of folk and pop songs he plays at local clubs, restaurants, and event entertainment venues. He currently resides in Sarasota and is available for local gigs. He is virtually a one man band using a looper to play the background music while he plays the guitar, harmonica, and vocals.

His CD promoting macrobiotics can be purchased on Amazon or cd baby, and listened to on Myspace.
